CROSSBORDER

Industrial Contracts & NegotiationWorkplace Ethics, Empathy & Leadership

Supporting companies across the Americas and Europe.
The Problem I Solve

Senior-level support, without the commitment of permanent senior headcount.

Companies increasingly operate across borders with lean legal, commercial, and HR teams. The complex agreement, site challenges, performance and payment disputes, dealings with state-owned customers and public officials, the compliance issue no one wants to raise: these moments need senior judgment, but they do not always justify a permanent hire.

"That is where I come in. I bring the senior in-house judgment your team needs, with the flexibility your business requires and without the commitment of a permanent headcount."

Why companies call

Industrial / Manufacturing

OEMs, engineered equipment manufacturers, and aftermarket & service businesses.

  • A high-stakes agreement that needs experienced negotiation
  • Tender terms accepted under time pressure and now difficult to deliver
  • Risk that surfaces during performance, once the agreement is executed
  • Challenges with customers or subcontractors on site
  • Unethical or non-compliant behavior driven by pressure to deliver

People and ethics

  • Policies that exist on paper but not in daily behavior
  • Managers struggling with conduct and accountability
  • Teams that do not trust speak-up channels
  • Employee-supervisor conflicts that escalate into reports and investigations

Markets and capacity

  • Entering or returning to Venezuela
  • A key role open or a team member on leave
  • Cross-border teams that need someone who speaks their language, literally and culturally
Services

The Senior Judgment Behind Atlântica Crossborder
Karla Sofia Acosta N.

Karla launched Atlântica Crossborder following more than 20 years across international corporate, transactional, and compliance roles, including the last 10 years as senior in-house legal counsel for Swiss-based global industrial companies in machinery, equipment, and service businesses.

She holds two master's degrees from Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas and has built her career across European, U.S., and Latin American markets. Her work is grounded in how business decisions actually move across jurisdictions, cultures, and operational constraints.

Having worked across international law firms and global organizations, she understands a challenge many companies face: sophisticated commercial, ethics, and compliance needs that exceed internal capacity but do not always justify a permanent senior hire. Atlântica Crossborder was created to fill that gap.

Based in Boca Raton, Florida, Karla supports industrial and international companies in contract negotiation, workplace ethics, and Venezuela market entry and re-entry.
